The Medina County 4-H Meats Team was 1^st place overall beating Oklahoma by a narrow 2 point margin.  They were also 1^st in retail cut identification, , 2^nd in beef judging, 2^nd in pork judging, 3^rd in retail cut judging, 3^rd in oral reasons, and 2^nd in total judging and reasons.  The team received a $500 travel award donated by Mr. Paul McKie for being 1^stoverall.
Individually, Walter Nester was 2^nd high overall winning a $750 scholarship donated by The Saddle and Sirloin Club of Kansas City.  He was also 1^st in beef judging, 3^rdin retail cut judging, 3^rd in oral reasons, 2^nd in total judged, and 5^th in retail cut identification. 
April Molitor was 4^th high overall and 1^st in pork judging.  Darby Gonzales was 7^th high overall.
