Medina County 4-H Meats Team WINS American Royal

The Medina County 4-H Meats Team was 1st place overall beating Oklahoma by a narrow 2 point margin.  They were also 1st in retail cut identification, , 2nd in beef judging, 2nd in pork judging, 3rd in retail cut judging, 3rd in oral reasons, and 2nd in total judging and reasons.  The team received a $500 travel award donated by Mr. Paul McKie for being 1stoverall.
Individually, Walter Nester was 2nd high overall winning a $750 scholarship donated by The Saddle and Sirloin Club of Kansas City.  He was also 1st in beef judging, 3rdin retail cut judging, 3rd in oral reasons, 2nd in total judged, and 5th in retail cut identification. 
April Molitor was 4th high overall and 1st in pork judging.  Darby Gonzales was 7th high overall.
