Anonymous is continuing to fight against Monsanto. Isn't Anonymous great? They are asking for others to join in the fight by emailing and calling Monsanto. They are asking that you do so at 5pm your time. That part was unclear because they had no specific day listed. Is it everyday? I asked for clarification but my connection has not gotten a response for me yet. I had already known that California had decided to put on their 2012 ballet the chance to vote on GMO labeling. Of course Monsanto is going to fight it and lie to people to sway them to vote against it. Don't fall for it people. Fight against Monsanto! I'm sure Monsanto would love to hear from you. Let them know that you don't want GMOs in your food.
Anonymous is also asking for people to boycott Monsanto products. As it is summer, you can do this by NOT buying Round-Up, which is found in so many stores. Spray those weeds with vinegar on a hot day instead. Of course, you should always boycott Monsanto's GMOs in your food supply. I know it is a lot harder to do since it is in so many things, but it is worth it. Fight with your food dollar.
There are many organizations and a number of books where you can go for more information. Here are just a few:
Center for Food Safety
Lots of information here. They also publish a great book called, Your Right To Know: Genetic Engineering And The Secret Changes In Your Food. Definitely a book to buy. It has an in-depth list of food products containing GMOs. I'm sure the list is much longer now, but the book is a must.
Seed Saver's Exchange
They publish news on GMOs in their membership quarterly publications. Plus they are working to preserve our heirlooms. You can buy heirloom seeds and plants from them to grow in your own garden. Fight against GMOs by growing your own heirloom fruits and vegetables.
Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
They are big into fighting against GMOs. You can find news on GMOs, and buy heirloom seeds and plants to grow in your garden.
Southern Exposure Seed Exchange
They are also big into fighting against GMOs. They are involved in an anti-GMO lawsuit which you can read about on their site. They also sell heirloom seeds and plants to grow in your garden. They are my top favorite to buy from. They are also fellow Virginians.
Anonymous Against Monsanto
Go here if you want to read their press release on their fight against Monsanto. They also have some good links to find out more.
Genetic Engineering Action Network
There is lots of information here, and help to start your own activist group. So get involved.
Do your part. Find some way to help in the fight against GMOs. If you live in California, please vote for the required labeling of genetically engineered food products. We should have the Right to see what is in our food and avoid it if we want to.
