Isn't it so beautiful there? Out of all the places that I have visited in the United States, I would have to say this is my favorite. All my children love it too. When we think of the beach, this is what we think of. Beautiful Assateague Island.

I know I keep saying that I love Chincoteague, but I should clarify it a little better. I adore the cute seaside town on Chincoteague, but what I really love is Assateague Island. Assateague is the barrier island next to Chincoteague and it is a National Park, so uninhabitable. The two islands have their history deeply intertwined. You can't think of one without the other. All of these pictures are from my personal collection and are of Assateague Island. It is the best place in Virginia, so I really hate that Governor McDonnell wants to allow oil drilling near here. Enjoy!
